Azalea Charities’ Aid for Wounded Warriors has granted tremendous, and much needed, support to our Wounded Warriors for almost 16 years by providing critical services such as building custom handicap-enabled homes, prosthetic replacement and therapy, as well as financial support to meet fiscal obligations.
The Azalea Charities’ Aid for Wounded Warriors is a not-for-profit project that provides comfort and relief items for soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who are sick or injured as a result of their service in Iraq & Afghanistan. This project has been extremely beneficial in helping lift the spirits and morale of these brave servicemen and women who have served our country so courageously. Chenega Corporation has raised well over $700,000 in cash and in-kind services over the course of the past 14 years, with almost $600,000 coming from the Invitational itself. This year, we aim to raise over $100,000 during the tournament; an ambitious goal to say the least, but one that I know we can achieve with our partners and brethren within this community.
This country has historically answered the call to duty, and as a nation, we have always rallied behind those who have served. We have all benefitted throughout our careers from the Defense industry, and now is our time to give back to those who have enabled this to happen. Our continued dedication to help our nation should remain strong, and on point, during these perilous times. This charity event is just a way for us to show our appreciation for our warriors, our community, and ultimately, make a difference in the lives of those who have given so much.
