Chenega Analytic Business Solutions (CABS) is thrilled to recognize Shelly Small as a pioneer Program Manager on their Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Emergency Management Institute (EMI) contract in Emmitsburg, MD. Shelly began working for CABS in 2021; however, she has been a part of FEMA’s ecosystem since 1988! Her leadership and experience have contributed to this year’s success, as she has garnered multiple kudos from her team. CABS Project Management Office (PMO) spoke on Shelly’s influential work ethic.
“Shelly aspires always to reach customer satisfaction. She truly values her staff and makes serious efforts to ensure they are listened to. She pitches in when necessary hands are needed in the classroom. Her positive attitude and flexibility provide an asset to our team and EMI.”
Shelly recalls core principles learned while working with CABS, “since working for CABS, I’ve learned about various approaches to solving problems, along with the ever-present value of teamwork. You must always treat others with grace. I believe every person on the contract brings something to the table that makes the contract successful.”
With the exclusion of her work duties, Shelly enjoys her time outdoors- so much so that she took a trip to the continent of Africa! The spotlight header picture demonstrates her holding a baby hyena during her African safari trip. Beyond exploring and her love for the great outdoors and the beach, Shelly enjoys spending time with her three daughters, son, and four grandchildren.
Shelly has played a prominent role in detecting challenges that the team faced in the past. CABS is very grateful for Shelly and her efforts to improve mission objectives.
