CABS announced a $10,000 charitable contribution to Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana (VOAOHIN) in support of the Dayton Veterans’ Resource Center – located on the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center campus. The corporate grant funds essential services, including transitional housing, vocational training, behavioral health resources, and homelessness prevention, for military veterans and their families across Montgomery County.
Guiding the pilot grant, CABS employees reviewed eligible regional charities and selected VOAOHIN’s Dayton Veterans’ Resource Center for its lean operational model and demonstrated success in transitioning veterans into stable, permanent housing. The cause holds personal meaning for the team, as over 30% of CABS personnel supporting Wright-Patterson are military veterans.
The donation marks the first award presented under an employee-led community investment initiative the CABS Cares Committee. Under the program, corporate funds are allocated to regional operations. Local personnel researched community challenges, evaluated eligible 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, and selected where the contribution will have the most local impact.
“Our goal with CABS Cares is simple: seek the wisdom and guidance of our team members who live, work, and serve in this community every day to support the causes and organizations that work to improve the community,” said John Jordan, President of CABS. “Our Wright-Patterson team recognized an immediate, critical need to support veterans navigating the transition into stable civilian life. Volunteers of America runs an exceptional program at Building 400, and we are honored to invest in their mission.”
Direct Impact on Local Veterans
VOAOHIN operates a 90-day, 25-bed transitional housing facility on the Dayton VA campus, serving veterans with honorable and other-than-honorable discharges. In the first half of 2026, the center provided shelter to 72 homeless veterans and assisted 114 veterans through the federal Supportive Services for Veteran Families program, delivering rapid re-housing and critical financial support to prevent homelessness.
