Chenega MIOS Dances the Night Away as Title Sponsor of DUTS

Each year, Chenega MIOS takes great pride in our ability to give back to underprivileged communities who may not see as much support as they need to keep their beneficiaries afloat. One of the top charities that MIOS not only supports through sponsorships but also by hosting fundraisers to aid the group in their goals is the Los Charros Foundation (LCF). The LCF gives back to our nation’s youth who are pursuing careers post-high school in many fields including; agriculture, education, and trades. Many of these fields are quickly dwindling, though they are a crucial part of our everyday lives. With a focus on leadership, education, and agriculture, they strive to assist and provide opportunities to youth who otherwise would not have the same chances as those in larger communities with greater resources.

Every September, the LCF hosts Dancing Under the Stars (DUTS), a beautiful night out on the Vera Earl Ranch in Sonoita, AZ, to raise money for the youth. As the Title Sponsor, Chenega MIOS was grateful to, along with Chenega IT Enterprise Services employees, have 40 guests in attendance to witness the record-breaking funds raised at the 7th Annual DUTS. The event featured multiple livestock animals that were auctioned off. MIOS excitedly opted to bid for the pig, which would later be donated to one of the youths in the program so that he or she could learn valuable lessons through raising it and go on to auction it elsewhere, years down the line. Other auction items included “Cowboy for a Day,” which is an opportunity to live on the ranch for a weekend and learn the ins and outs of being a rancher; tickets to sports games and trips; and more.

All in all, the LCF was able to raise OVER $550,000 to support Cochise County, Pima County, and other local counties youth. It was yet another beautiful night on the Vera Earl Ranch, and we’d like to extend a thank you to the Los Charros Foundation and the Tomlinson family for their hospitality. We can’t wait to come back next year.
