Chenega MIOS Hosts 14th Annual Chenega Invitational to benefit Azalea Charities’ Aid for Wounded Warriors

Each year, Chenega MIOS hosts the Chenega Invitational Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Azalea Charities’ Aid for Wounded Warriors. Azalea Charities is a not-for-profit organization that provides comfort and relief items for our brave veterans who are sick or injured as a result of their combats. Azalea provides funds for service animal training, funds for adapted living elements like wheelchair-accessible ramps, lowered countertops, adapted vehicles, and other services our veterans may need. Azalea has also helped host reunion retreats. Most recently, they assisted in hosting a reunion for the servicemen and women involved in the Battle of Fallujah, the bloodiest battle of the Iraq War.

On September 3, 2020, supporters came out to Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge, VA, for a beautiful day to raise money for an incredible cause. Through the years, Chenega has been able to raise close to $800,000 for Azalea and is proud to have raised over $80,000 from this year’s 14th Annual Chenega Invitational. With precautions in place (such as spacing out tables/golf carts, enforcing a mask policy in and around the clubhouse, food served by staff rather than self-serve, and more), we were able to host one of our favorite days of the year, all while abiding by Virginia laws and ensuring the safety of all participants.
