[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]On Thursday, September 5, 2019, the 2nd Annual Chenega MIOS Brews for the Brave kicked off at Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge, VA for a night of beer tastings, dancing, and lots of laughs.
This family-friendly event featured four local breweries, Tucked Away Brewery, Brew Republic Bierwerks, 2 SIlos Brewing, and Port City Brewing, who all showed off with two of their latest and greatest brews for attendees (over 21 years old) to taste. Meanwhile, those under 21 worked it on the dance floor as the DJ played some staple songs (including the Chicken Dance). Attendees also had the opportunity to test their luck on premier raffle prizes, such as a Yeti Cooler, DC United Tickets, suite level Capitals tickets, limited edition Bose Speaker Sunglasses, and a Trea Turner signed baseball with Diamond Club Level seats to a Nationals game. Over 75 people took part in this night for the books, and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.
All proceeds benefitted Azalea Charities Aid for Wounded Warriors. Specifically, the approximately $3,000 raised will go towards a reunion for the men and women involved in Operation Phantom Fury. Known as the bloodiest battle of the Iraq War, November will be the 15th anniversary of the ground operation to recapture the city of Fallujah from Al-Qaeda. Over 100 Marines will attend the reunion.
