To kick off the week, Chenega MIOS employees were immediately greeted with welcome signage and decor to show off the fun atmosphere we were planning for the week ahead. Once inside, breakfast burritos from Anita’s were waiting to be devoured.

In between operations meetings, employees were encouraged to participate in a photo-matching game, where individuals had to match childhood photos of some of our leadership to their headshots to win raffle tickets. While this was a lot of fun, it also helped many of our newer employees who have not had as much face-time with some of these leaders by putting faces to names. Other fun incentives we had planned for the week included:

  • “Puppy Therapy” with Wolf Trap Animal Rescue, where the nonprofit organization brought in puppies for our employees to snuggle and spend time with, an instant mood booster for all.
  • A fully stocked ice cream truck for our employees to enjoy cones, sundaes, milkshakes, and more.
  • Delicious catered lunches, a staple to keeping our brains alert for the productive days ahead.
  • A group walk following lunch where Chenega MIOS announced that it would donate $10 to Wolf Trap Animal Rescue for each person who joined in on the walk. From this, MIOS was able to donate $350 to the local animals in need.

Another key focus of the week along with business development was community involvement and giving back. We partnered with 911Day and Meals of Hope, so that on two of the days in the office, our employees could volunteer an hour of their time to help us stuff meal packs for the Lorton branch of the DC Food Bank. Our selfless staff formed an assembly line down the tables, periodically switching people out due to an influx of those who wanted to join, and worked diligently, eventually packing close to 10,000 meals to be donated. We are so grateful for those who opted to help us out to give back to the community that has given us so much.

We want to extend a warm welcome back to our employees! We look forward to seeing everyone in the office once again.
