Chenega IT Enterprise Services (CITES) would like to highlight one of its employees, Dr. James Parker for his incredible charity work.
Dr. Parker is an Acquisition Principal on the PMOS contract for CITES in addition to being a pastor for Great Faith Christian Center International (GFCCI).
Through GFCCI, Dr. Parker helped organize a back-to-school supplies drive at Dumfries Elementary School on Sept. 26, 2024. The church donated various school supplies for the students including notebooks, crayons, pencil boxes, glue sticks, backpacks, coats, and more. The goal of the drive was to alleviate some of the financial burden on local families by providing essential school supplies, clothing, and shoes.
Dumfries Elementary is a Title I, which means it receives funding from the Title I program administered by the Department of Education. Title I schools have a high percentage of students from low-income families. The program aims to provide all children with a high-quality education and close educational achievement gaps between schools.
“By ensuring every student has the resources they need to succeed, we aim to create a thriving learning environment where every kid is empowered to learn,” said Dr. Parker. “Together, we can significantly impact the lives of these young learners and their educational journey.”
Dr. Parker also used the Chenega MIOS Charitable Matching Program to help reach their goals. “Chenega matched my contributions to this effort, allowing us to purchase 100 coats for the children.”
Dr. Parker and GFCCI plan to continue their support of Dumfries Elementary School every year.
CITES would like to thank Dr. Parker for all of his hard work and dedication to help ensure the younger generation in your community receive a great education.
