Chenega IT Enterprise Services (CITES) would like to spotlight team member Gerry Gabel, a valued employee supporting the Army Capability Manager Intelligence Sensors mission for the Intelligence Center of Excellence. On top of his responsibilities supporting critical Army Capability Development, Gerry spends his free time supporting the local veteran community.
Initially, Gerry served as a chapter service officer, helping veterans to navigate the claims process and the bureaucracy of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Since he and his wife are both disabled veterans, he recognized the importance of having an advocate addressing this often-confusing process. Over time, he has served as the chapter Adjutant, chair of the Veterans Aid Program, and Senior Vice Commander and is currently in his second term as Chapter Commander for Fry – Chapter 14 of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Sierra Vista’s oldest Veteran Service Organization. Gerry speaks of how grateful he is of CITES support of the DAV in his time as commander, but the CITES team is truly the lucky one to have someone as dedicated to Veterans and his work as Gerry on their team.
