Venturi would like to spotlight John Corneil, Division Manager for Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Programs, and celebrate his 20 years of dedicated service with Venturi. John’s career reflects an extraordinary commitment to excellence, leadership, and mission-focused support across both military and defense contractor environments. His depth of experience, steady leadership, and technical expertise have made a lasting impact on Venturi and the programs he supports.
In his role as Division Manager, John provides oversight for 25 Venturi employees supporting MDA across four subcontracts. Working closely with three program managers and two team leads, he ensures personnel operations run effectively while he focuses on financial oversight, revenue tracking, and long-term projections. In addition to his management responsibilities, John serves as a full-time direct charge employee supporting MDA’s Targets and Countermeasures program office. His work includes overseeing the qualification of hardware components for flight on ballistic missile target vehicles, an effort that requires precision, accountability, and deep technical knowledge.
Much of John’s Day is spent collaborating with stakeholders, attending meetings, and reviewing detailed test documentation such as plans, procedures, analyses, and reports. When needed, he travels to test facilities to witness qualification testing firsthand. These on-site tests, often involving shock, vibration, and acceleration in dynamic environments, are among his favorite aspects of the job and reflect the hands-on nature of his contribution to mission success.
John particularly enjoys the financial and strategic side of his Division Manager role, including tracking performance across subcontracts and working closely with Venturi and Chenega colleagues. He values the strong professional relationships he has built and appreciates the frequent collaboration that comes with supporting complex, high-impact programs.
Outside of work, John enjoys unwinding with his wife by watching movies or binging television series, as well as taking long walks several times a week on a local greenway trail.
